Actor Kim Soo Hyun has officially signaled his return to the entertainment industry, with reports claiming he has already received more than 40 offers for upcoming films and television dramas.
The actor resumed activity on social media on July 15, marking his first public update in approximately 17 months following the controversy that led him to suspend his entertainment activities.
Kim Soo Hyun shared a post from Ben Chan, founder and chairman of Philippine fashion brand BENCH, featuring photos from his latest advertising campaign. The post marks Kim Soo Hyun’s first activity on his personal social media account since February 2025, when he stopped updating following allegations surrounding his private life. In the newly shared images, the actor appears smiling warmly, signaling what many industry observers see as the beginning of his official return.
According to industry sources cited by Star News, Kim Soo Hyun’s comeback has accelerated in recent weeks, particularly following the arrest and indictment of Kim Se Ui, head of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute. The report claims that producers have expressed renewed interest in casting Kim Soo Hyun, with the actor reportedly receiving over 40 scripts for potential film and television projects. Kim Soo Hyun suspended his activities following allegations related to his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Beginning in March 2025, Kim Se Ui repeatedly alleged through YouTube broadcasts that Kim Soo Hyun had dated Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor and bore responsibility for circumstances surrounding her death. - Violating the Anti-Stalking Act
- Violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes
- Attempted coercion
- Criminal intimidation
