The growing popularity of appetite-suppressing medications such as Wegovy and Mounjaro has reignited conversations about body image and celebrity dieting. As slimmer physiques once again dominate the entertainment industry, more public figures are opening up about the realities behind these medications including the unpleasant side effects many users rarely discuss.
One of the latest celebrities to speak out is popular YouTuber and television personality Pungja, who previously made headlines after revealing she had lost 32 kilograms. While discussing her weight-loss journey, Pungja admitted that she experimented with several obesity treatments, including Wegovy and Saxenda, in an effort to manage her weight.
However, she explained that the medications caused side effects severe enough for her to abandon them. Instead, she returned to a more traditional approach focused on balanced eating habits and regular exercise, saying she found it to be a healthier and more sustainable solution. Although she did not specify exactly what symptoms she experienced, her comments quickly drew attention online.

Fellow YouTuber RalRal offered a more detailed account of her own experience. In a recent video, she shared that she had lost nearly seven kilograms over the course of three months, stressing that consistent exercise ultimately made the biggest difference.
RalRal also admitted that she had briefly tried both Wegovy and Mounjaro during her weight-loss journey. According to her, the medications caused such severe nausea and digestive problems that she was “vomiting from both ends,” prompting her to stop using them almost immediately.
Comedian Kim Jun Ho has also joined the conversation. In a YouTube video, he revealed that he used Wegovy ahead of his wedding to comedian Kim Ji Min and initially succeeded in losing weight with the medication.

The results, however, did not last. Kim said he experienced significant rebound weight gain after discontinuing the drug, quickly regaining around 10 kilograms. He also noted that one unexpected side effect was increased irritability, which affected his mood while using the medication.
As more high-profile entertainers openly discuss both the benefits and drawbacks of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, public awareness surrounding their potential risks continues to grow. Their experiences have encouraged broader conversations about the importance of understanding possible side effects and consulting healthcare professionals before relying on appetite-suppressing medications for weight management.
