On July 11, fans shared videos on social media of singer Jung Dong Won, best known for his appearance on Tomorrow is Mr. Trot, serving as the host of a Marine Corps Victory Commemoration Ceremony.
Currently serving as a Private First Class in the Artillery Brigade of the 2nd Marine Division, the singer confidently took the stage wearing his military uniform. Removing his service cap, he introduced himself with a crisp military greeting: “Hello. I am Private First Class Jung Dong Won, your host for today’s event. Victory!”
His disciplined posture and confident demeanor immediately drew attention, but it was his noticeably transformed physique that impressed fans the most. Compared to his youthful appearance during his television debut, Jung Dong Won now looks significantly more mature and physically stronger.

Fans particularly pointed to his broad, square shoulders, saying the young singer appeared more confident and masculine after several months of military service. His updated appearance quickly spread across online communities, with many commenting that he looked almost unrecognizable from his pre-enlistment days.
Jung Dong Won has long spoken about his desire to serve in the Marine Corps. Before enlisting, he invited former Marine and singer Oh Jong Hyuk to his YouTube channel in June 2025 to seek advice about military life. During the conversation, he shared his long-held ambition. “If I was born a man, I wanted to serve in the military proudly. My father served in the 707th Special Mission Group, so I grew up hearing many stories about military life.”

His enlistment in February 2026 fulfilled that dream, and he has continued to earn praise from fans for adapting well to military service. Jung Dong Won is scheduled to complete his mandatory military service and be discharged on August 22, 2027.
