On July 12, Son Tae Young uploaded a new video titled “The Seongsu-dong of New York That Son Tae Young Loves | Chelsea Vlog” on her YouTube channel Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae Young.

During the vlog, Son visited a café with a friend she met through their children. While chatting outdoors, the two reminisced about mutual acquaintances and shared stories from the entertainment industry.

Her friend, who is also acquainted with actor Lee Seo Jin, revealed that he occasionally asks about Son Tae Young. “Whenever I meet him, he asks, ‘How’s Tae Young doing?’ I tell him, ‘She’s just raising the kids these days and constantly driving them around.’ Then he says, ‘That actually suits her perfectly,’” the friend recalled, referring to Son Tae Young’s family-oriented lifestyle.

Son Tae Young said she first met Lee Seo Jin while filming the 2006 drama Freeze. “We became acquainted through that drama. I see him on television all the time, so it doesn’t even feel like it’s been years since we last met. He just feels like someone I’ve always known,” she said. She then joked, “I’d tell him, ‘Oppa, I do have a job I’m a housewife!’” A playful on-screen caption added, “A housewife and YouTuber, actually.”

Son Tae Young married fellow actor Kwon Sang Woo in 2008. They welcomed their son Luke in 2009 and their daughter Riho in 2015. Since 2019, the family has been living in New Jersey, United States, to support their children’s education. With their eldest son preparing for university entrance this year, Son Tae Young has been dedicating even more time to her role as a mother.

Her last acting project was the MBC drama You Are Too Much, which concluded in August 2017. As a result, she has effectively been away from acting for nine years.

Son Tae Young also shared another story involving Lee Seo Jin, revealing that her husband Kwon Sang Woo recently ran into him at a restaurant. “My husband recognized Seo Jin and went over to greet him. Then Seo Jin ended up paying for the meal,” she said.

Her friend commented that Lee Seo Jin hasn’t changed over the years, and both women agreed. “He’s so funny. He’s really the definition of a tsundere,” they said with a laugh. Son Tae Young added, “It would be wonderful if he were my real older brother.”

Toward the end of their conversation, her friend asked whether she planned to return to acting someday. Son Tae Young replied, “I don’t have a job right now. At the moment, I’m a full-time housewife.”
