According to an exclusive report by OSEN on July 8, Park Bo Young and Son Suk Ku have been cast in director Kang Hyung Chul’s upcoming film If I’m With You (working title).
If I’m With You is described as a fantasy romantic comedy that follows the story of Korean and international characters aboard a cruise ship. The film marks the latest project from Kang Hyung Chul, the acclaimed director behind Scandal Makers, Sunny, Tazza: The Hidden Card, Swing Kids, and Hi-Five. Production will be handled by Sidus, while NEW will serve as the investor and distributor.

The project is especially meaningful for Park Bo Young, who reunites with Kang Hyung Chul for the first time in 18 years since the blockbuster Scandal Makers, which attracted more than 8.22 million moviegoers. That film was both Kang’s feature directorial debut and Park Bo Young’s breakthrough hit, launching her into stardom. After beginning her career as a child actress, she has since established herself as one of South Korea’s leading actresses in her 30s.
The pairing of Park Bo Young and Son Suk Ku has also generated significant excitement. The two actors will be working together for the first time, making this one of the most unexpected and refreshing casting combinations in recent Korean cinema.

Son Suk Ku has built his reputation through powerful and charismatic performances in projects such as the blockbuster The Roundup, as well as A Killer Paradox, D.P., Big Bet, and My Liberation Notes. This time, however, he will showcase a different side of himself by starring opposite Park Bo Young widely known as the “queen of lovable characters” in a fantasy romantic comedy. Audiences are already eager to see the chemistry and fresh dynamic the pair will bring to the screen.
Meanwhile, Park Bo Young recently appeared in the Disney+ series Gold Land, while Son Suk Ku is preparing for the release of the upcoming Netflix series Road.
