Former NewJeans member Danielle has drawn attention after being spotted in Australia on the same day a major court hearing related to ADOR’s lawsuit against her took place in South Korea.
On July 2 (KST), the 31st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court held the third hearing in ADOR’s ₩31 billion (approximately US$19.9 million) damages lawsuit against Danielle, her mother, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. During the proceedings, both sides continued to dispute the legal basis for ADOR’s claim, with Danielle’s representatives challenging why such a substantial amount of damages was being sought against her.

While lawyers were presenting their arguments in court, Danielle was reportedly thousands of miles away in Australia.
According to eyewitness accounts shared online, Danielle took part in the Gold Coast Marathon, where she was seen enjoying the event alongside other participants. Fans who encountered her said she politely declined requests for photos but spent a few moments chatting with them instead.
Witnesses also noted that Danielle was wearing a T-shirt representing a NewJeans fan running group, delighting supporters who recognized the reference.
The sighting quickly spread across social media, with many fans expressing relief that Danielle appeared to be maintaining her daily life and pursuing personal interests despite the ongoing legal dispute. Many commented that it was encouraging to see her participating in a public sporting event while dealing with the pressures of a high-profile lawsuit.
Meanwhile, during the same court hearing, ADOR reportedly clarified for the first time why Danielle was the only former NewJeans member named in this particular damages lawsuit. The agency argued that the claims were based on actions it considers unique to Danielle, while her legal team strongly disputed that interpretation. The case remains ongoing, with additional hearings expected in the coming months.
