Actor Park Sung Woong is set to return to theaters this summer with Okay! Madam 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2020 hit Okay! Madam. The original film attracted more than 1.2 million moviegoers and earned praise for its entertaining blend of action and comedy.
Okay! Madam 2 follows the family of former legendary secret agent Mi Young as they embark on a luxurious cruise vacation. What begins as a relaxing getaway quickly turns into chaos when the cruise ship is hijacked in the middle of the ocean, leading to an explosive mix of comedy and action on a much larger scale than the first film.
The sequel has already generated excitement since wrapping production late last December. Park Sung Woong reprises his role as one of the franchise’s original cast members. This time, he once again plays a man who has the mindset of an elite National Intelligence Service agent but lives as an unemployed husband determined to protect his family, delivering both laughter and high-energy action.
Matching the sequel’s expanded scale, Park Sung Woong is expected to showcase even more dynamic comedic action. Having previously demonstrated his versatility in films such as The Dude in Me, Okay! Madam, and Bear Man, he once again combines intense action sequences with his signature lovable and clumsy charm, creating a character that balances humor with heartfelt determination.
The original cast members Uhm Jung Hwa, Park Sung Woong, Lee Sang Yoon, and Bae Jung Nam return for the sequel, while Park Jin Joo, Ryeoun, and Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung join the franchise as new additions, raising anticipation for fresh chemistry and even bigger laughs.
Featuring Park Sung Woong’s upgraded comedic action alongside an expanded ensemble cast, Okay! Madam 2 is scheduled to premiere in theaters nationwide on August 12.
