Former PRISTIN member Jung Eunwoo recently surprised fans after revealing through social media that she is currently employed as a consultation manager at a plastic surgery clinic in Seoul’s Gangnam district. Speaking about her career transition, she shared that her connection to hospital work actually began in her early twenties.
According to Jung Eunwoo, she frequently worked part-time jobs even while pursuing her idol career. “At first, I mainly worked at reception desks. That’s how I started, and eventually I grew into a consultation manager role.” She also revealed that she explored a variety of jobs while trying to support herself financially. These included: convenience store employee, clothing store worker, marketing company staff member and hospital receptionist. Jung Eunwoo explained that she continuously searched for stable opportunities while pursuing her dreams in entertainment.

The former idol said she has worked as a consultation manager for approximately two years and has spent the last three months at her current clinic. Although she is not a doctor, Jung Eunwoo emphasized that extensive knowledge is required for the role. She explained that she has learned a great deal from medical professionals and colleagues while working in the industry. Because she works at a plastic surgery clinic, she has also received specialized training related to cosmetic procedures and patient consultations.
When asked why she decided to work in the plastic surgery field specifically, Jung Eunwoo pointed to her natural interest in communication and counseling. She said: “I enjoy listening to people and talking with them.” The former singer explained that she had long been interested in the industry and believed it offered strong long-term career prospects. She also clarified that she secured the position entirely through the standard hiring process. “Nobody helped me get the job. I submitted my résumé, attended interviews, and was hired through the normal process.”

Interestingly, Jung Eunwoo revealed that most employees at the clinic were unaware of her entertainment background when she first joined. She intentionally avoided mentioning her idol career because she viewed it as a completely different profession. Over time, however, word spread among colleagues and patients. Despite this, she says she receives no special treatment. “They don’t treat me differently because I used to be an idol. I’m simply another employee.” She added that after working in the field for two years, she feels the job suits her well and genuinely enjoys interacting with people.
Jung Eunwoo admitted she initially hesitated to publicly reveal her current occupation. She worried that some people might react negatively to her career change or assume she was simply acting as a promotional model rather than actually working at the clinic.
However, the response turned out to be overwhelmingly positive. Many fans commented that they still remembered her and were happy to see her pursuing a new path. She expressed gratitude for the support, saying the messages motivated her to continue working hard. Some patients have even recognized her during consultations and greeted her as a former idol.

Before debuting, Jung Eunwoo appeared on several audition programs while pursuing her dream of becoming a singer. She later debuted with PRISTIN alongside former I.O.I members Nayoung and Kyulkyung. After PRISTIN disbanded in 2019, she re-debuted in the group HINAPIA with several former PRISTIN members, but the group was unable to achieve long-term success.
When asked whether she was afraid to leave her dream of becoming a singer behind, Jung Eunwoo responded honestly. She acknowledged that starting a new career was intimidating but believed that refusing to move forward would only leave her stuck in the past. “I had to make a living.” She also emphasized that every profession comes with its own challenges. “There is no job that isn’t competitive.”

According to Jung Eunwoo, the dedication and determination she developed as an idol continue to help her in her current role. Rather than viewing her entertainment career as a closed chapter, she sees it as valuable experience that still benefits her today.
With strong support from family, friends, and longtime fans, Jung Eunwoo says she is focused on building a stable future while continuing to embrace new opportunities. Although her path looks very different from the one she originally envisioned as a young trainee, she remains grateful for the experiences that shaped her journey and optimistic about the future.
