He reportedly took care of younger soldiers by sharing snacks and even created opportunities for them to escape pressure from strict seniors by inviting them to exercise together. Serving as an operations soldier, Lim was also known for his exceptional performance, even earning reward leave for delivering flawless briefings. His strong teamwork and dedication made him a highly respected figure among fellow soldiers.
Even after his discharge, Lim Young Woong continued his positive influence. He reportedly gifted premium football boots to an acquaintance from the military who now works as a coach for a football team for people with brain disabilities.
Actor Park Bo Gum also built an extraordinary reputation during his Navy training camp days, earning the nickname “unicorn” because of the overwhelming number of positive stories surrounding him. Fellow trainees revealed that Park participated sincerely in every activity without receiving celebrity privileges or exemptions and even achieved top-level scores during physical fitness tests.
One particularly famous story involved Park calming down noisy trainees who refused to follow instructions. He reportedly told them, “Guys, we’re adults. Although he had been assigned alternative service because of a herniated disc, he underwent surgery to qualify for active duty and later served as an instructor at the Baekma Division training camp.

During a heavy snowstorm, the sister of a trainee was reportedly stranded with transportation cut off. Taecyeon calmly reassured her, saying not to worry, before helping arrange transportation through another trainee’s family so she could safely return home.
