On the morning of June 6, a new episode of the YouTube variety show Pinggyego titled “Early Summer Is Just an Excuse | EP.111” was uploaded to the DdeunDdeun channel. Appearing as guests were Jin Sun Kyu, Gong Myung, Lee Da Hee, and Yoon Kyung Ho, who are promoting Netflix’s upcoming film Husbands in Action.
During the conversation, Gong Myung brought up his younger brother Doyoung, who is currently serving in the military. He surprised everyone by revealing, “My younger brother is in the army right now. My birthday was in May, and he gave me a really big gift. He bought me a car.”
Caught off guard, Yoo Jae Suk and Yoon Kyung Ho repeatedly asked in disbelief, “Your younger brother in the military?” Gong Myung then explained that Doyoung had jokingly told him while buying the car, “Hyung, you should definitely talk about this somewhere.”
To everyone’s amusement, Gong Myung suddenly stood up and gave a formal 90-degree bow, saying, “To the chairman of our family, thank you so much. I’ll treasure it and drive it for a long, long time,” drawing laughter from everyone on set.
After hearing the story, Yoo Jae Suk praised Doyoung warmly, saying, “Your brother is really amazing. More than anything, he’s currently serving in the military. Even if someone has money, it’s not easy to do something like that.”
Adding to the humor, Lee Da Hee quietly leaned toward Gong Myung and jokingly asked, “So… what kind of car is it?” sparking even more laughter.
Yoo Jae Suk also playfully pointed out, “Doyoung may be globally famous, but Gong Myung earns well too. When he offered to buy you a car, did you just accept it?” Without hesitation, Gong Myung cheerfully replied, “Yes.”
He then affectionately added, “My younger brother is very generous. Sometimes, he even feels more like the older brother.” The actor openly expressed gratitude and admiration for Doyoung’s caring personality.
Gong Myung also joked about their sibling dynamic these days, saying, “Since my brother is stationed in Gangwon Province, every morning I wake up and greet the direction of Gangwon like, ‘Hyung-nim! Have a great day today…’” showing his playful affection for his younger sibling.
