Former NCT member Mark has officially begun a new chapter in his career with the launch of Upper Room, a creative company focused on music, visual content, performance, and other artistic fields.
According to the company’s introduction, Upper Room was founded by Mark alongside longtime colleagues he has built trust with throughout his career. The venture aims to support music projects while connecting multiple creative disciplines, allowing Mark to further develop his artistic vision independently.

The company launched its official social media presence on June 4, quickly attracting attention from fans and fellow artists. Among those showing support was Chenle of NCT DREAM, who publicly left a congratulatory comment on Upper Room’s first Instagram post.
Shortly afterward, Chenle posted a message on Bubble that sparked widespread discussion among fans. “I got a real scolding yesterday, but since everyone was right, I’m so grateful, even though I feel sorry.”

While Chenle did not directly mention Mark or Upper Room, some fans speculated that the message was related to the attention surrounding his Instagram comment.
The situation quickly became a topic of debate online, with opinions divided. Comments included:
- The fans are making a big deal out of nothing.
- He’s allowed to be mentioned. It’s not like he left because of a scandal.
- Just keep the friendship in the background.
- As a fan, I wouldn’t necessarily want to see it.
- Why can’t he be mentioned if they’re still close?
Others pointed out that regardless of the circumstances surrounding Mark’s departure, many fans were emotionally affected, making public interactions a sensitive topic within the fandom.

Although Chenle has not clarified whether his Bubble message was connected to the Instagram comment, the incident has once again highlighted the differing opinions among fans regarding interactions between current and former group members. Meanwhile, Upper Room’s launch marks a significant milestone as Mark begins the next phase of his career outside of NCT.
