A shocking new development has emerged in the case involving the man accused of breaking into actress Kim Gyu-ri’s home. According to reports, the suspect was already facing trial for a separate alleged trespassing incident involving broadcaster Seo Dong-joo before the latest crime occurred.

According to MBN, the suspect, a man in his 40s identified only as A, was caught earlier this year after allegedly attempting to enter Seo Dong-joo’s residence. Police sought an arrest warrant on charges including trespassing and stalking and also requested a temporary detention order. However, the court reportedly denied the arrest warrant, allowing him to remain free while awaiting trial.

Authorities say that while those legal proceedings were still ongoing, A allegedly committed another crime on May 20 at around 9 p.m. KST.

The suspect is accused of unlawfully entering Kim Gyu-ri’s home in Seoul’s Jongno District. Although the robbery attempt was ultimately unsuccessful, reports state that Kim Gyu-ri and another woman living at the residence were assaulted during a confrontation with the intruder. Following the incident, police launched a manhunt. The suspect later turned himself in at his residence in Seoul’s Gangseo District.

During questioning, A reportedly told investigators that he had identified the location of Kim Gyu-ri’s residence after watching online video content that featured the actress’s home.

The revelation has raised concerns about privacy and security issues surrounding celebrity residences that are shown through television programs and online content.

On May 22, the court approved an arrest warrant for the suspect, citing concerns that he might flee. He has since been taken into custody and transferred to prosecutors while the investigation continues.

The case has drawn significant public attention, particularly after it was revealed that the suspect allegedly committed the offense while already facing trial in a separate trespassing case involving Seo Dong-joo.
