On May 30, Showbox shared a series of photos and videos through its official social media account, writing, “Team Colony turned the theater into a nest. The second week of stage greetings has successfully wrapped up surrounded by love.”
Colony marks Jun Ji Hyun’s return to the big screen for the first time since Assassination in 2015. After more than a decade away from movie theaters, the actress finally reunited with audiences in person and quickly won them over with her natural charm, quick wit, and warm personality.
In recent years, movie stage greetings in Korea have evolved far beyond simple promotional appearances. While actors once mainly expressed gratitude to audiences from the stage, today’s events often include active interactions with fans, such as recreating memes, striking requested poses, and participating in fan-service culture commonly associated with K-pop idols.
Jun Ji Hyun appeared to fit right into the trend. In one of the released videos, she playfully read a fan’s sign that said, “You look like an increeeedibly beautiful woman,” delivering the line with perfect comedic timing. She then encouraged fans by saying, “Take pictures,” creating a lively atmosphere.

She also warmly accepted gifts prepared by fans, saying, “Thank you, I’ll enjoy it. Take lots of photos,” while happily responding to various requests. Whether answering questions with hand gestures, striking a playful sexy dance pose, or acting out fan-requested memes, she kept the audience laughing throughout the event.
One of the biggest highlights came when she confidently recreated the viral meme line, “Are you okay? You usually throw up when you see ugly people. Look at me, you’re okay now, right?” Her flawless delivery sparked an explosive response from fans both online and offline.
Her fan service continued even after the stage greeting ended. Outside the theater, she walked along lines of waiting fans, completing half-heart poses with them one by one while making eye contact and personally greeting audience members, leaving many deeply touched.
A heartwarming story also emerged from the event. When a fan reportedly fell on a theater staircase, Jun Ji Hyun was the first person to rush over and help. She assisted the fan to their feet, held their arm for support, and asked, “Are you okay?” to check on their condition. She even picked up the fan’s dropped belongings and handed them back personally.

Afterward, she continued checking whether the fan had been injured and even took a selfie with the shaken attendee, demonstrating her kindness and consideration until the very end.
Netizens were quick to praise the actress, leaving comments such as, “A beauty remains beautiful forever,” “She’s elegant even when she acts playful,” “Now I understand why she’s Jun Ji Hyun,” “Cheon Song Yi exists in real life,” “Yenicall has returned,” “A born star,” and “How did she hold back her idol-level fan service instincts for so long?”
Many fans specifically compared her to two of her most beloved characters: Cheon Song Yi from the SBS drama My Love From the Star and Yenicall from the blockbuster film The Thieves. Her lovable, quirky charm reminded audiences exactly why those characters became so iconic.
Meanwhile, Colony is director Yeon Sang Ho’s new zombie thriller set in the heart of Seoul. The film stars Jun Ji Hyun alongside Koo Kyo Hwan, Ji Chang Wook, Shin Hyun Been, and Kim Shin Rok.
