jung eunwoo new career

On May 30, former Pristin member Jung Eun-woo uploaded a short video to her social media account, introducing herself with the phrase, “I’m Eun-woo, a former idol.”

The video featured her participating in the “Suddenly” challenge, inspired by the song “Suddenly” by I.O.I, while also looking back on her entertainment career.

In the video, Jung Eun-woo revisited footage from several audition and survival programs that helped launch her career, including: Superstar K4, Voice Kids and Produce 101.

She reflected on her years as a trainee and idol, saying: “I was a former idol that’s me. I did idol activities, but now I’m walking a different path.”

The singer admitted that seeing her former peers reunite nearly a decade later brought mixed emotions. “Seeing friends reunite after ten years makes me feel a little regretful,” she shared. “But at 28 years old, I can’t just log out of society. To make a living, I had to take on a new challenge.”

Jung Eun-woo then revealed her current profession. “I ended up working as a manager at a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam,” she said with humor. “Maybe it’s an easier path than becoming a successful idol.”

She accompanied the comment with a cheerful dance performance, showing her trademark bright personality despite the career change.

Her honest remarks quickly drew attention online, with many fans praising her openness about the realities faced by former idols after leaving the entertainment industry.

Before making her debut, Jung Eun-woo built recognition through multiple television audition programs.

In 2016, she participated in Mnet’s Produce 101 as a trainee under Pledis Entertainment. Although she gained considerable support from viewers, she finished in 21st place and narrowly missed a spot in the final lineup of I.O.I.

She later debuted as a member of PRISTIN alongside fellow members including Lim Na-young and Zhou Jieqiong.

However, PRISTIN officially disbanded in 2019.

Later that same year, Jung Eun-woo reunited with former PRISTIN members Kyungwon, Minkyung, and Yebin to debut in the girl group HINAPIA.

Despite high expectations from fans, the group’s activities came to an end after only around nine months.

Following her departure from idol promotions, Jung Eun-woo continued engaging with supporters through her personal YouTube channel and various entertainment appearances.

She also appeared on the Channel S and K-STAR variety program Don’t Be Excited, Heart, maintaining a public presence while exploring new career opportunities.

Her latest revelation has sparked conversations among fans about the challenges many former idols face after leaving the spotlight, with many applauding her willingness to embrace a new chapter in life.
