G-Dragon has become the center of online attention after briefly “liking” a social media post related to Kim Soo-hyun before later removing it amid divided public reactions.

The controversy began after Kim Soo-hyun’s side released a statement following the court-approved arrest warrant issued against Kim Se-ui, the head of controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute.

According to the statement, Kim Soo-hyun expressed gratitude toward investigative authorities for uncovering the truth through objective evidence. The actor’s side also stated that he had spent the past year trying to prove his innocence amid the allegations and controversy.

Attention intensified after online users noticed that G-Dragon had allegedly liked an Instagram post discussing Kim Soo-hyun’s statement.

Screenshots of the interaction quickly spread across social media and online communities, sparking debate among netizens.

Attorney Ko Sang-rok later referenced the situation on his Threads account, further fueling discussion online.

According to Ko Sang-rok, G-Dragon had previously helped Kim Soo-hyun emotionally during the early stages of the controversy.

The attorney wrote:

“G-Dragon pressed like on the post. At the beginning of the incident last year, Kim Soo-hyun revealed he underwent meditation to regain emotional stability. I heard G-Dragon introduced him to a meditation center for peace of mind and healing. We would like to thank everyone on behalf of the actor for believing in and supporting him until the very end.”

The revelation quickly triggered mixed reactions online.

Online reactions included criticism from users who said they were “disappointed” by G-Dragon’s actions, while supporters argued that liking a post should not automatically be interpreted as endorsing every aspect of the situation. The discussion has since spread widely across Korean online forums and social media platforms, adding another layer to the already polarizing debate surrounding Kim Soo-hyun’s scandal and public image.

The BIGBANG member is widely known for frequently liking posts on social media while communicating with fans. During a past variety show appearance, G-Dragon humorously explained, “I naturally press hearts a lot. My beginning was ‘Heartbreaker,’ and since then I’ve been spreading love.”

However, after some netizens criticized the action as being “careless” or “premature,” G-Dragon later removed the like from the post, seemingly in an effort to avoid further controversy.
