On the May 23 episode of TV Chosun’s variety show Seoksam Play Season 1, the Seoksam family continues the second day of their trip to Jeju Island. While the members are waiting before riding a submarine, Ji Suk-jin suddenly throws out an old-man-style joke and asks, “Have you ever had a submarine breakup?” The phrase plays on “ghosting breakup” in Korean.
What seemed like a light joke quickly turns serious. Jeon So-min and Mijoo both immediately become serious and answer at the same time, “We have been through it.” Their unexpected response leaves Ji Suk-jin flustered.
Jeon So-min then shares the painful story of a past breakup, shocking even the staff on set. According to the report, some staff members were so surprised that they covered their mouths in disbelief. Mijoo also becomes emotional while remembering her own experience. Thinking back to her former boyfriend, she angrily says, “If you’re going to do this, just tell me you want to break up!”
The moment reveals a different side of the two stars, who are usually known for their bright and playful personalities. Seeing their emotional reaction, Ji Suk-jin and Lee Sang-yeob stop joking and show a more supportive older-brother side.
However, the touching mood does not last long. Later, Ji Suk-jin and Jeon So-min return to their chaotic sibling-like chemistry. While moving by boat, Ji Suk-jin playfully shadowboxes in front of Jeon So-min. After checking the hand wearing her ring, Jeon So-min throws a punch filled with emotion, making everyone laugh.
The production team shared that Jeon So-min and Mijoo’s dating stories, along with Ji Suk-jin and Lee Sang-yeob’s reactions, will deliver both laughter and comfort. With emotional confessions, Jeju Island chaos, and hilarious real-sibling chemistry, the upcoming episode of Seoksam Play Season 1 is expected to show both the funny and vulnerable sides of its cast.
