According to the AMAs announcement on May 20 (local time), BTS will attend the awards ceremony scheduled for May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
This marks the group’s first direct participation in the event since 2021, when they made history as the first Korean act to win the prestigious Artist of the Year award.
This year, BTS is once again competing for the grand prize-level category, Artist of the Year.

The group joins a lineup of global superstars including Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga.
Fans are especially paying attention to whether BTS can recreate the groundbreaking success of 2021, when they became the first Korean artists ever to take home the AMA’s top honor.
In addition to Artist of the Year, BTS also secured nominations for Best Male K-Pop Artist and Song of the Summer.
Their latest title track “SWIM” from the group’s fifth full-length album ARIRANG earned a nomination for Song of the Summer shortly after its release, highlighting the group’s massive global fan power.
The track reportedly entered the nomination lineup less than a month after release.

Over the years, BTS has built an impressive legacy at the AMAs, collecting a total of 12 trophies through both group and solo activities.
The group first won Favorite Social Artist in 2018 and continued dominating the category for three consecutive years through 2020.
In 2019, BTS also won Tour of the Year, proving their global concert power.
They later achieved a four-year winning streak in Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock from 2019 to 2022, setting a record for the category.
In 2021, BTS swept three awards, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Duo or Group, and Favorite Pop Song.
Meanwhile, RM also won Favorite K-Pop Artist in 2025.

Ahead of the AMAs, BTS is set to hold their BTS World Tour “ARIRANG” in Las Vegas concerts on May 23–24 and May 27–28 at Allegiant Stadium.
The group will also launch the large-scale city collaboration project BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – Las Vegas, featuring immersive fan experiences throughout the city.
One of the biggest highlights is the “ARIRANG Red Illumination” project in partnership with the Las Vegas tourism authority, which will light up major landmarks across the city in red — the symbolic color of BTS’ ARIRANG album.
Fans worldwide are now watching closely to see whether BTS will once again make AMA history.
