Jisoo’s older sister Kim Ji Yoon is gaining attention after officially stepping into the spotlight through a new fashion survival program.
On May 12, tvN premiered the first episode of Kill It: Style Creator War, a large-scale survival competition featuring 100 influencers, fashion creators and trendsetters with a combined social media following of more than 43 million.
Before Kim Ji Yoon’s entrance was revealed on screen, the show teased viewers with the hashtag: “BLACKPINK Jisoo’s older sister.”
Once her selfie photos with Jisoo appeared, contestants immediately reacted with excitement.
“Is she really her sister?”
“They look so alike!”
Many viewers were also reminded of Kim Ji Yoon’s longtime nickname from her school days — “Gunpo’s Han Hyo Joo” — due to her resemblance to actress Han Hyo Joo.
During the broadcast, Kim Ji Yoon spoke honestly about how her famous younger sister might react to her joining a survival program.
She shared: “My younger sister is BLACKPINK’s Jisoo. I think she’ll probably feel nervous together with me.”
Kim Ji Yoon added that Jisoo would likely watch the show while encouraging her from afar: “She’ll probably think, ‘Can she do well? She’ll do fine,’ and support me like that.”
For her first appearance, Kim Ji Yoon wore a dramatic black dress paired with eye-catching red stockings, immediately drawing attention from the contestants.
Explaining her styling concept, she confidently stated: “Today’s fashion theme is basically ‘I’m going to crush everyone.’ That’s why I added strong red accents.”
However, not all reactions inside the competition were supportive.
Since many contestants had also chosen red fashion items, one participant bluntly commented: “I didn’t really see her as a threat competitor-wise.”
The direct remark created a tense atmosphere and hinted at the fierce competition expected throughout the series.
