On April 27, a production press conference for the drama Gold Land was held at Conrad Seoul in Yeouido. The event was attended by cast members including Park Bo Young, Kim Sung Cheol, Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hee Won, Moon Jung Hee, Lee Kwang Soo, and director Kim Sung Hoon.

Playing antagonist “Director Park” in the series, Lee Kwang Soo explained that his character’s backstory wasn’t fully detailed in the script. Because of that, he personally suggested adding distinctive elements such as facial scars and a gold tooth gem to enrich the role.

He then jokingly expressed his “frustration,” saying that once people began showing interest in the gold tooth detail, director Kim Sung Hoon started claiming it as his own idea. Lee Kwang Soo emphasized that he was the first to propose it and even revealed that he paid for the tooth gem out of his own pocket. He added with a laugh that he would be willing to release their text messages as proof if given the chance.
