The moment comes from Episode 1 of Yumi’s Cells 3, where Shin Soon Rok, unaware of Yumi’s (Kim Go Eun) deep affection for her pet Maltese, makes the blunt and insensitive comment. Earlier in the episode, Yumi had already shown strong attachment to her dog Coco, and upon hearing Soon Rok’s remark during a phone call, she reacts in shock covering Coco’s ears and unleashing her “anger cell.”

In official short clips shared online, Maltese owners playfully protested, commenting things like “They don’t eat poop” and “They’ve been trained not to,” while also sympathizing with Yumi’s reaction. The scene quickly gained traction, prompting Kim Jae Won to step forward with his humorous apology.
