On April 5, Yunjin conducted a real-time live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse while visiting the Han River Park.

The controversy began when she said, “I want to make a bouquet,” and started picking flowers. She initially tried to pluck them by hand, but when it didn’t work, she took out scissors she had with her and cut the flowers instead. She even expressed excitement, saying she planned to make a bouquet and bring it with her to work.

However, viewers watching the broadcast began leaving concerned comments. After noticing the reactions, Yunjin appeared surprised and asked, “Is it illegal to pick flowers at the Han River?” She quickly added, “I’m really sorry. If that’s true, I’m really, really sorry,” offering an immediate apology.

She then stopped picking the flowers and continued the livestream, but clips of the moment quickly spread across online communities.

In fact, under Korea’s “Urban Parks and Green Spaces Act,” collecting flowers or fruits within public parks without permission is prohibited, and violations may result in fines. Since plants in public parks are considered shared public assets rather than personal property, such actions can also be viewed as environmental damage and may be subject to penalties.

Public opinion has been divided. Some netizens criticized her actions, saying she lacked awareness and that using scissors to cut flowers in a public park was uncomfortable to watch.

On the other hand, many defended her. Supporters argued that the backlash was excessive, noting that she did not damage cherry blossom trees but only picked wildflowers. Others commented that many people casually pick dandelions by the roadside and that they were also unaware such actions could be illegal. Some added that since she apologized after realizing the issue, it would be enough for her to be more careful in the future.

Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM recently successfully wrapped up their world tour, performing across 20 cities in Korea, Japan, Asia, and North America.
