The Chinese fantasy drama Moon Scale Chronicles (《月鱗綺紀》) has officially premiered, quickly climbing to the top of streaming charts while simultaneously igniting heated debate among viewers.
Starring Ju Jingyi and Chen Duling as dual female leads, alongside Zeng Shunxi and Tian Jiarui, the drama blends mystery, romance, and fantasy within a richly stylized world inspired by the classic Painted Skin mythology.
Set in the mysterious city of Luo’an, the story follows nine-tailed fox sisters—Ju Jingyi’s youthful Lu Wuyi and Chen Duling’s enigmatic Wu Wangyan—as they investigate supernatural crimes while searching for the rogue demon Xiao Wei. As conflicts between humans, demons, and gods intensify over the power of the Dragon Deity, the narrative unfolds through themes of sacrifice, destiny, and forbidden love.
