Chinese actress Ju Jingyi is currently embroiled in a serious crisis as her contract dispute with Siba Media intensifies. According to QQ, the conflict between Ju Jingyi and her former management company has escalated dramatically. The actress, often dubbed the “once-in-4,000-years beauty,” is seeking to terminate her contract, accusing Siba Media of exploiting her labor and withholding her earnings. In response, the company has counterattacked, labeling her as “ungrateful” and alleging contract violations. They even claimed to possess evidence of serious economic misconduct that could destroy her career if revealed.
While it remains unclear who is at fault, reports from 163 indicate that Ju Jingyi is currently at a major disadvantage. Under her existing contract, she is bound to Siba Media until 2033. If she chooses to terminate the agreement now, she would have to pay a staggering 300 million yuan in compensation a figure described as an overwhelming “freedom fee.”
Financial reports further reveal that despite working tirelessly for a decade, Ju Jingyi has only earned around 139 million yuan before tax. With her current financial situation, it is nearly impossible for her to afford such an enormous penalty, even if she desperately wants to leave.
As a result, the actress is considering taking legal action against Siba Media in hopes of reducing the financial burden. However, this path is expected to be long and difficult, as the dispute involves complex economic issues that could drag on for years. Moreover, Siba Media is believed to have various ways to delay the legal process.
The fallout from this conflict has also severely impacted her career. Due to the unresolved dispute, industry insiders say that production companies and broadcasters are hesitant to work with her. Since Siba Media still holds rights to her image, voice, and professional activities under the contract, any collaboration would require the company’s approval.
Currently, three of Ju Jingyi’s projects Let’s Fight, The Eternal Fragrance, and Wan Hua Sin are reportedly on hold due to the controversy. If Siba Media continues to block her activities while she refuses to compromise, her career could remain frozen for years.
Born in 1994, Ju Jingyi debuted in 2013 through a talent competition and officially joined the idol group SNH48 in 2014. She rose to fame with her striking visuals, earning the nickname “once-in-4,000-years beauty” from Japanese media.
Addressing the controversial title, Ju Jingyi once clarified, “I don’t even know when that label started. When I debuted, idol groups weren’t as popular in China. A Japanese article originally described me as ‘an idol seen once in 4,000 years,’ but it was later exaggerated into ‘a once-in-4,000-years beauty.’”
