On March 27, Ravi shared a statement via social media, addressing the controversy that led to his legal troubles.

He explained, “I began serving as a public service worker in October 2022, but during that time, I went through a trial related to violating the Military Service Act, which resulted in my service being suspended.”

After completing the remaining service period under the Military Manpower Administration’s orders, he was officially discharged on December 13, 2025. Reflecting on his actions, Ravi admitted, “I feel deeply ashamed that I tried to justify myself by blaming my circumstances instead of reflecting on myself.” He added, “I realized that my cowardly choice could hurt and harm others.”

Ravi was previously convicted of violating the Military Service Act after conspiring with a broker to fake symptoms of epilepsy in order to evade military duty. He received a sentence of one year in prison, suspended for two years, in both the first and second trials.

Ravi military controversy apology

Following the controversy, he apologized to epilepsy patients and fans, and subsequently left VIXX. In his latest statement, Ravi expressed remorse and a desire to change, saying, “I sincerely apologize once again to those who were hurt by my actions, and I will continue to learn and discipline myself to become a better person.”

As he re-enters public life after completing his service, attention is now focused on whether Ravi can rebuild trust and resume his career following one of the most high-profile military-related controversies in recent years.
