Jin has become the center of controversy following BTS’s highly anticipated group comeback, with fans accusing the agency of unfair treatment that has only intensified the situation.
On March 21, BTS held their free concert BTS The Comeback Live | ARIRANG at Gwanghwamun Square, marking the first time all seven members—RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—performed together in nearly four years. The event celebrated the release of their fifth full-length album ARIRANG and drew over 40,000 attendees, quickly going viral across global social media platforms.
However, the celebratory atmosphere soon turned tense when Big Hit Music shared a comeback-related article that notably excluded Jin. While quotes from the other six members were highlighted, Jin’s comments were entirely absent, sparking immediate backlash.

Fans quickly took to platforms like X (Twitter) and Instagram, pushing related hashtags into trending topics worldwide. Many demanded an explanation and called for corrections, arguing that the omission was disrespectful and dismissive of Jin’s contributions to the group.
“How can all members be quoted except Jin?” one fan questioned, while others described the situation as “unfair” and “unprofessional.” The controversy soon expanded beyond the article itself, with criticism increasingly directed at Big Hit Music for allegedly mishandling the situation.
Some fans speculated that Jin’s busy individual schedule following his military discharge in June 2024—including solo releases and tours—may have limited his involvement in certain promotional activities. However, many rejected this as a valid explanation, emphasizing that excluding him from official comeback coverage was unacceptable regardless of circumstances.

The incident has also reignited long-standing discussions within the fandom about perceived imbalances in promotion. A number of longtime fans argued that Jin has historically received less spotlight compared to other members, with this latest controversy described as “the final straw.” Some even raised concerns about possible underlying tensions between the artist and the agency.
At the same time, more moderate voices suggested that the situation may not indicate intentional neglect, noting that Jin continues to receive support for his solo activities. Still, even these perspectives acknowledged that the distribution of attention among members has not always appeared balanced.

Despite the controversy, Jin’s performance and presence during the comeback have been widely praised. Known for his stable vocals, strong stage presence, and striking visuals, he remains one of the standout figures of this BTS era. Precisely for that reason, his absence from a major comeback article has struck many fans as particularly difficult to accept.
As criticism toward Big Hit Music continues to grow, the situation highlights the حساس dynamics within global fandoms, where even small perceived inequalities can quickly escalate into major controversies—especially for a group as influential as BTS.
