On the evening of March 22, Chinese media outlet 163 reported that Wang Ou had officially ended her relationship with comedian He Jiuhua, who is five years younger than her. The actress later confirmed the news during a livestream on March 23, stating, “I am currently single, and I feel very free and at ease being on my own.” This marked the end of their five-year relationship.

Her statement quickly went viral, sparking intense discussions across social media platforms. The hashtag about Wang Ou declaring her single status climbed to the top of trending searches, amassing over 300 million views in a short time.
The sudden breakup surprised many, especially since just a month earlier, He Jiuhua had reportedly been seen visiting Wang Ou’s residence.

Wang Ou and He Jiuhua began dating in 2021. At the time, he even attended her younger sister’s wedding as a family member and sat at the main table. Not long after, the couple moved in together. However, in July 2023 while Wang Ou was pregnant with their first child He Jiuhua was allegedly caught being intimate with another woman in a car. The scandal led to public criticism toward Wang Ou, though she ultimately chose to forgive him.

Toward the end of 2023, the actress quietly gave birth to their daughter. Just a few months ago, their child made her first appearance in front of the media.
In the Chinese entertainment industry, Wang Ou was once recognized as a talented actress, known for works such as The Patriot Yue Fei, Nirvana in Fire, and The Disguiser.

However, her reputation took a major hit following an alleged affair scandal with Hawick Lau, which was said to have contributed to the breakdown of his marriage with Yang Mi. In 2016, paparazzi released evidence claiming the two were involved while working on a project together, including footage of Hawick Lau repeatedly entering Wang Ou’s hotel room.
At the time, Hawick Lau denied the allegations, insisting that their meetings were solely work-related. However, the public and industry insiders largely rejected his explanation.

Following the scandal, both Wang Ou and Hawick Lau faced severe backlash and were widely boycotted. The controversy significantly damaged their careers. In 2018, Hawick Lau and Yang Mi officially divorced. Meanwhile, Wang Ou was labeled a “homewrecker” by the public and faced rejection from many producers in the industry.
