On February 20, during the 2026 Degree Conferral Ceremony held at KAIST’s main campus in Daejeon, G-Dragon delivered a video address to celebrate the graduates’ new beginnings. “Congratulations from the bottom of my heart. You’ve already achieved so much, and you are people who will continue to achieve even more,” he said warmly.
He continued with words of encouragement about stepping into an uncertain world. “You are now entering a world where there isn’t always a defined right answer,” he remarked. “It’s okay to be wrong just don’t stop. The courage to choose a different path from others will ultimately take you the farthest.” He concluded his speech with a powerful message: “Today, begin freely.”
G-Dragon’s connection with KAIST dates back to June 2024, when the university appointed him as a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The move drew widespread attention, as KAIST aimed to enhance global competitiveness by integrating science and technology with K-content and the cultural industry.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Corporation the global AI entertainment tech company to which G-Dragon is affiliated has also partnered with KAIST to establish an “AI Enter-Tech Research Center.” Together, they are conducting various research projects that apply digital twin technology, AI avatars, and metaverse innovations to the entertainment industry.
With his message blending creativity, courage, and forward-thinking vision, G-Dragon once again demonstrated why he remains not only a cultural icon but also an influential voice for the next generation.
