Lee So Bin, once known nationwide as the “child shaman” who famously predicted singer MC Mong’s future controversy, is once again drawing attention after appearing on the new Disney+ survival series Battle of Fates.

The Disney+ show, which premiered on February 11, brings together 49 fortune tellers and shamans who compete in intense missions designed to test their spiritual insight. With bold and unconventional challenges, the program has quickly sparked buzz among viewers.

Lee So Bin first became a household name in 2008 when, at just nine years old, she appeared on SBS’s variety show Star King. During the broadcast, she delivered a striking reading about MC Mong, saying he had “many things to be forgiven for” and needed to ask forgiveness from those around him, including his family. When host Kang Ho Dong pressed her for clarification, she firmly stated that he had committed serious wrongdoings. MC Mong laughed off the remarks at the time.

Two years later, in 2010, MC Mong became embroiled in controversy over allegations of deliberately extracting teeth to evade mandatory military service, leading to a suspension of his broadcasting activities. Afterward, many netizens revisited the old clip of Lee So Bin’s reading, claiming her prediction had come true. MC Mong even referenced the incident in his song lyrics, drawing further public interest.

Now 26 years old, Lee So Bin has returned to the spotlight on Battle of Fates, revealing that she began walking the path of shamanism at age seven and appeared on television at nine. Fellow contestants immediately recognized her reputation, expressing surprise at seeing the once-famous child shaman all grown up.

On the show, participants face extraordinary tasks such as determining causes of death, predicting the gender of unborn babies, and identifying surgical procedures. In one particularly tense mission, Lee So Bin accurately described a contestant’s intestinal resection and neck surgery, confidently mentioning the use of a tube in the throat. Her precise statements allowed her to advance, leaving viewers stunned.

Online reactions have poured in, with many expressing disbelief at her accuracy and marveling at how much time has passed since her early television appearance. Comments such as “She’s grown up so much,” “She was accurate then and still is,” and “It’s hard to believe something like this” have circulated widely, fueling further interest in the show.

As word-of-mouth spreads and viewers share their chills over the predictions shown on Battle of Fates, anticipation continues to build around what other startling revelations may unfold next.
