On February 9, the woman, identified as A, released a statement through her personal account explaining why she had remained silent for some time. She said the reason was her cooperation with Korean police authorities, adding that she had concerns about how Korea’s legal system different from that of other countries could potentially place her at a disadvantage. Despite those worries, she stated that she ultimately decided to assist the investigation in order to prove that her claims were based on facts.
A further revealed that she has submitted all evidence in her possession related to the case. As she is unable to travel to South Korea in person, she explained that she has been working with the assigned investigator remotely. According to her statement, the investigation has already been ongoing for more than a month and is taking a considerable amount of time due to the volume of materials being reviewed.
She emphasized that even if the process is lengthy, she intends to continue cooperating in good faith until the investigation is concluded. A added that once the case is resolved, the identity of the individual connected to the submitted materials would be clearly confirmed through official investigative channels. She also noted that relevant communication records still exist and that the accounts involved in conversations with Lee Yi Kyung were actively used at the time, expressing hope that the truth would eventually be fully clarified.
The dispute began in October last year when A claimed that she and Lee Yi Kyung had exchanged sexually explicit messages, continuing to release allegations about his private life. Lee Yi Kyung strongly denied the claims and filed a criminal complaint against her at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, accusing her of blackmail and defamation through the spread of false information. He has reportedly already completed his statement as the complainant.
Previously addressing the controversy, Lee Yi Kyung shared his emotional distress, stating that he felt intense anger and frustration as someone claiming to be a German national whose identity and existence he questioned repeatedly appeared and disappeared while allegedly sending threatening emails to his company months earlier. As investigations on both sides continue, public attention remains focused on how the case will ultimately unfold.
