The issue gained traction after Taiwan’s major daily newspaper Liberty Times reported on allegations surrounding Lee Sung Hun, following comments made by influencer Kevin Ninh. While creating a year-end dating recap content for 2025, Kevin Ninh claimed that she had previously gone on a date with a male contestant from Single’s Inferno. Soon after, online speculation pointed to Lee Sung Hun, particularly after his appearance in episode two of Single’s Inferno 5, causing the controversy to spread rapidly. The influencer’s content has since been deleted.
The core of the backlash centers on allegations that Lee Sung Hun was already in a relationship at the time. According to reports, Lee had previously dated Hena Yang, a TikTok influencer with over one million followers, and rumors of infidelity allegedly surfaced multiple times during their relationship. This fueled accusations that Lee had been involved with multiple partners simultaneously.
In response, Lee addressed the issue on his social media account on January 21, firmly denying all cheating allegations. He stated that he had “never committed adultery or infidelity” and emphasized that all related claims were false, adding that he had already begun legal proceedings for defamation. Lee clarified that Kevin Ninh had followed his social media for a long time and had invited him to dinner while visiting New York. According to Lee, the meeting was nothing more than a casual dinner between acquaintances, with no romantic involvement.
Expressing disappointment, Lee added that he felt betrayed, saying that what he believed to be a genuine friendship had turned out to be material used for content creation at the expense of others. As public scrutiny continued, Lee reportedly changed his Instagram handle before eventually deleting the account entirely.
Despite the ongoing controversy, Lee Sung Hun is said to be continuing his professional activities, including media interviews and photo shoots. The situation has sparked heated debate among viewers, once again highlighting how contestants on popular dating shows often face intense scrutiny over their past relationships once they step into the spotlight.
