Biography
Oh Se-hun, known mononymously as Sehun, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, model, and actor. He is best known as the maknae (youngest member) and one of the key performers of the South Korean-Chinese boy band EXO and its sub-unit EXO-SC, both managed by SM Entertainment. Sehun has also expanded his career into acting, appearing in television series, films, and web projects since his debut in 2012.
Early Life and Education
Oh Se-hun was born on April 12, 1994, in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, South Korea. He has an older brother and grew up in the capital city. Sehun attended the School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA), graduating in February 2013, where he honed his skills in performance alongside future peers in the entertainment industry.
Career
Pre-Debut and EXO Debut (2012–2014)
Sehun joined SM Entertainment as a trainee and was officially introduced as the fifth member of EXO on January 10, 2012. He debuted with the group on April 8, 2012, performing on SBS’s Inkigayo. Soon after, EXO became one of the most successful K-pop groups globally.
As a member of EXO, Sehun is recognized for his roles as lead dancer, rapper, and visual, contributing significantly to the group’s choreography and performance identity.
EXO-SC and Music Projects (2018–Present)
In 2019, Sehun formed the official EXO sub-unit EXO-SC alongside fellow member Chanyeol. The duo debuted with their first mini-album What a Life on July 22, 2019, blending hip-hop and urban pop styles.
Beyond group activities, Sehun has participated in solo music projects. Notably, his solo track “On Me” was released as part of EXO-SC’s 1 Billion Views project, showcasing his rap and dance performance skills.
