On January 28, Hana reconnected with fans through an online Q&A session after a long hiatus. As she had recently been sharing frequent updates from overseas, one fan asked whether she had emigrated. Hana denied the speculation, replying, “I have rabbit-like cats waiting for me. I couldn’t do that.”

When another fan asked what she was doing abroad and whether she was studying, Hana surprised many by answering, “I’m working as a flight attendant. I fly around everywhere, like Hong Gil-dong.” Her unexpected career change quickly drew attention from fans.

Hana also responded candidly to a question about how to mentally cope with having to do things she does not want to do. She admitted, “People might say I’m immature, but I’m the type who tries to find a way to avoid doing things I don’t want to do. So I probably won’t be much help.”

However, she added that when facing something she absolutely cannot let go of, she chooses to confront it head-on. “I think of it as a chance to grow and tell myself, ‘When I finish this, I’ll be so proud and cool. I’ll definitely learn something, and it might even help me do what I really want more easily later,’” she explained.

Born in 1993, Hana debuted in 2016 as a member of the girl group Gugudan. Following the group’s disbandment in 2020, she transitioned into acting. Under the name Shin Yeon-seo, she appeared in several web dramas, including “Another Peaceful Day of Second-Hand Items,” “Mr. LEE,” and “Our D-Day.” Now pursuing a completely different path, Hana’s latest update marks a clear turning point as she begins the second chapter of her life outside the spotlight.
