He admitted, “I’ve never been good with money,” and explained that for 20 years, he entrusted any earnings over 10 million KRW from acting gigs directly to his mother.
Reflecting on the past, he said, “I once owned a house in Bangbae-dong, and my mother was the one who flipped it for profit. Everything I have now, I owe to her.” He continued, “My father never earned a living. He had three kids and lived like a bon vivant, while my mother lived her whole life frugally.”
His deep gratitude was evident as he added, “In every major life decision, I sought her advice. She always had the clearest answers.”
Sadly, Lee Pil Mo’s mother passed away from a cerebral infarction in 2023. On the same broadcast, he shared, “I wanted to do everything I could for her in her final moments.” He arranged an entire floor for her funeral service and spared no expense in honoring her memory.
