On the January 8 broadcast of MBC’s “Where Is My Home”, Lee Sang-yeob finally opened up about his wife’s profession 10 months after their marriage during a segment focused on Korea’s financial hub, Yeouido.
To kick off the new year, the cast headed to Yeouido to explore the area and discuss 2026’s economic outlook. Before the field trip, panelists talked about their stock trading experiences. Lee Sang-yeob humorously confessed, “I’ve never made a profit. Whenever I buy, it drops; when I sell, it goes up.”
In contrast, Yang Se-chan, Yang Se-hyung, and Jang Dong-min shared they’re doing quite well with stocks, sparking agreement that comedians might just have a knack for trading.

During a coffee break with Jang Dong-min and Joo Woo-jae, Jang brought up a popular curiosity that Lee’s wife works in the finance sector. Lee clarified, “It’s not exactly securities. She works in project financing, raising capital for specific projects. Because of her job, she can’t trade stocks it’s one of those professions where stock trading is restricted.”
Joo Woo-jae jokingly suggested, “So she gives you insider information,” to which Lee responded, “If that were true, I would’ve made money.”
Financial expert and author Park Min-soo, also on the show, explained, “Employees at securities firms can trade in their own name but must report it regularly to the company. Some professions, especially those with access to insider corporate information, are entirely banned from trading. Sharing non-public information in private is illegal.”
Lee Sang-yeob’s candid and lighthearted reveal about his wife’s profession gave fans a rare glimpse into his personal life and stirred curiosity about the couple’s dynamic behind the scenes.
