Actress and singer Nana has reportedly been countersued by the suspect who previously broke into her home, despite authorities determining that her actions constituted legitimate self-defense.
According to multiple entertainment and legal industry sources on January 2, the suspect, identified as A, who was arrested and indicted on charges of aggravated robbery causing injury, recently filed a criminal complaint against Nana during the investigation process. A is reportedly claiming that Nana’s actions during the struggle amounted to attempted murder.
The suspect, who is currently standing trial, initially admitted to the crime during early police questioning but has since reversed parts of his testimony. He now claims that he was not armed at the time of the incident and did not inflict harm on the victims.

It was previously reported that Nana had considered showing leniency toward the suspect due to his young age. However, after learning of the countersuit, Nana’s side has reportedly adopted a firm stance against any form of settlement. Her legal team is said to be considering additional legal measures, including a false accusation lawsuit, separate from the ongoing criminal trial.
Authorities have already determined that the injuries inflicted on the suspect by Nana and her mother occurred during a lawful act of self-defense. As such, no charges were filed against them.
According to the police investigation, the suspect broke into Nana’s residence in November and threatened her mother with a weapon while demanding valuables. Nana awoke after hearing screams and intervened to protect her mother, leading to a physical confrontation. Nana sustained injuries during the struggle, while her mother was reportedly choked and later received hospital treatment. The suspect suffered a laceration to his jaw caused by a weapon.

Police concluded that the actions taken by Nana and her mother fell under Article 21, Clause 1 of the Criminal Act, which recognizes self-defense. A police official stated that “there was a real and imminent threat to the victims, and the force used in response did not exceed reasonable limits,” adding that the case was not pursued against the victims as a result.
Legal experts have weighed in on the suspect’s countersuit, suggesting it may be a strategic attempt to reduce sentencing. One legal professional noted that aggravated robbery causing injury carries a heavier minimum sentence than homicide, and that raising claims of excessive force could be aimed at reframing the incident during trial.

Despite the emotional impact of the incident, Nana has reportedly resumed her scheduled activities. Her agency previously stated that while she endured a difficult period following the incident, she has been able to regain stability thanks to the support and encouragement of fans.
Nana most recently appeared at the production press conference for the upcoming film Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, continuing her professional commitments amid ongoing legal developments.
