The 2025 KBS Drama Awards was held on December 31 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. For Eagle Brothers claimed honors across six major categories including Best New Actor, Best Writer, Best Couple, Best Supporting Actor, Excellence Award, and the Grand Prize accumulating a total of 11 wins. Leading actors Ahn Jae Wook and Uhm Ji Won were jointly awarded the Daesang (Grand Prize) for their performances.

Aired from February to August 2025 as a 54-episode weekend series, For Eagle Brothers tells the story of five uniquely different brothers from a long-established traditional brewery and their eldest sister-in-law, who suddenly becomes the head of the household just ten days after marriage following her husband’s unexpected death. The drama features an ensemble cast including Ahn Jae Wook, Uhm Ji Won, Choi Dae Chul, Kim Dong Wan, Yoon Park, Lee Seok Gi, Park Joon Geum, Choi Byung Mo, Bae Hae Sun, Kim Jun Bae, Park Hyo Joo, and Yoo In Young. According to Nielsen Korea, the series recorded a nationwide peak rating of 21.9%, reflecting its strong popularity with viewers.

Ahn Jae Wook and Uhm Ji Won portrayed Han Dong Seok and Ma Gwang Sook, respectively, delivering performances that anchored the drama’s emotional depth. This marked only the sixth time in KBS Drama Awards history that the Daesang was shared, and just the second time co-Grand Prizes were awarded to actors from the same production—nine years after Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo won jointly for Descendants of the Sun in 2016.

In his acceptance speech, Ahn Jae Wook admitted he once thought the Grand Prize might never come his way, adding that he would embrace the weight and responsibility of the honor with humility. Uhm Ji Won echoed similar sentiments, saying she hoped to continue delivering performances that move audiences emotionally and pledged to grow into an actress worthy of the Daesang’s significance.

Both actors also paid tribute to late veteran actor Lee Soon Jae. Ahn Jae Wook reflected on Lee’s humility during his own award speech the previous year, expressing regret that he could not personally present the award this time. Uhm Ji Won grew emotional as she recalled working with Lee Soon Jae on the drama My Kids Give Me a Headache, describing him as a pivotal mentor and a profound influence on her career.

With its strong ratings, sweeping awards, and heartfelt moments on stage, For Eagle Brothers firmly established itself as one of KBS’s most successful and beloved dramas of the year.
