Japanese “National Treasure-level handsome man” Yagi Yusei has reportedly returned to single status. On December 29, Japanese media revealed that the popular idol-actor has ended his relationship with influencer PyunA, who is three years younger than him, drawing widespread attention from fans across Asia.
Yagi Yusei is the main vocalist of boy group FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE and has risen to international fame through his starring roles in BL drama My Beautiful Man and the manga-based series I Will Push My Boss With Full Power. His popularity has surged overseas, particularly in Taiwan, where he held a fan meeting in November that attracted hundreds of fans at the airport alone.
According to reports, Yagi’s romance was first exposed in March last year by Weekly Bunshun. His then-girlfriend PyunA is a well-known Korean-style influencer and an exclusive model for the fashion magazine Koakuma Ageha. With over 500,000 followers on Instagram, PyunA previously worked at Laforet Harajuku and later launched her own fashion brand, solidifying her status as a rising “it-girl” in Japan’s influencer scene.
At the time, Bunshun published photos showing PyunA frequently entering and leaving Yagi’s residence, leading media to describe their relationship as being close to semi-cohabitation.
However, Japanese outlet Josei SEVEN now reports that the couple has gone their separate ways after more than a year together. An insider revealed that although the relationship continued briefly after it became public, it ultimately ended due to differences in personality and values.
“PyunA is straightforward and loves freedom, while Yagi is detail-oriented and cautious,” the source said, noting that these contrasting traits gradually created distance between the two. Additionally, Yagi reportedly became more aware of fans’ intense reactions to his dating life through social media, which further influenced his decision to step back from the relationship and refocus on his acting and music career.
