The live broadcast of 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon delivered a series of special stages, but one unexpected moment involving ILLIT member Wonhee quickly caught viewers’ attention.

The year-end music festival was held on December 25 at INSPIRE Arena in Yeongjong-do, Incheon, and aired live nationwide. The event was hosted by IVE’s An Yujin, DAY6’s Young K, and NCT’s Jaemin. Under the theme “Golden Loop,” the show reflected on K-pop’s shining journey throughout 2025 while symbolizing its continued growth into the future. A total of 36 artist teams, including TVXQ’s Yunho, participated in the lineup.

Among the highlights were Christmas-only collaboration stages and unique performances created exclusively for the event. Rudolphs (CORTIS) performed “Jingle Bell Rock,” while Snowmenz — BOYNEXTDOOR’s Woonhak and ILLIT’s Wonhee — took the stage together to perform IU’s “Merry Merry Christmas.”

While the duet drew praise for the harmonious blend of their vocal tones, Wonhee unexpectedly became the center of discussion. During parts of the performance, her lip movements appeared out of sync with the audio, prompting confusion among viewers watching the live broadcast.

Online reactions quickly followed, with comments such as “Is this a broadcast accident?” , “Her lips don’t match the song at all,” and “It feels like AR was used.” Some viewers also pointed out that her voice could still be heard despite the apparent mismatch, further fueling speculation.

Following the Snowmenz stage, other collaboration units continued to energize the crowd. Noblemenz — TXT’s Huening Kai, ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao, RIIZE’s Sohee, and TWS’s Shinyu — showcased their vocals with DAY6’s “You Were Beautiful,” while Santa Captain Young K delivered a powerful rendition of “Bring Me Love,” earning enthusiastic cheers.

Despite the brief controversy, ILLIT’s Wonhee did not address the issue directly, and SBS has yet to release an official statement regarding the perceived sync discrepancy. As clips of the performance continue to circulate online, the moment once again highlights how even small details during live broadcasts can quickly become major talking points among K-pop fans.
