Studio MaumC announced that the commemorative Reply 1988 10th anniversary OST album will be released on January 9 across major music platforms. The album includes six tracks in total, featuring both vocal and instrumental versions. Among them are Park Bo Gum’s “Every Day With You,” “Don’t Worry” performed by the “Lee Il Hwa, Ra Mi Ran, and Kim Sun Young” trio, and “Hyehwadong (or Ssangmun-dong)” sung by the beloved Ssangmun-dong kids—Ryu Hye Young, Hyeri, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Bo Gum, Ahn Jae Hong, Lee Dong Hwi, and Choi Sung Won.

To thank fans who have continued to love the drama over the past decade, the cast has prepared special events tied to the album’s release. The physical album will include nine types of collectible photo cards featuring the actors who participated in the OST recordings. In addition, selected fans will receive signed Polaroid photos from the cast through a lottery based on numbers printed on the back of the lyric booklet.

The OST tracks, which were pre-released digitally ahead of the album, have already drawn strong responses, once again proving the drama’s lasting popularity. “Hyehwadong (or Ssangmun-dong)” by the Ssangmun-dong kids ranked 9th on Melon’s HOT100 chart (within 30 days of release), while “Don’t Worry” placed 15th.

Music videos featuring the original cast members have also gained attention online, prompting an outpouring of nostalgic reactions. Viewers commented that a drama they once watched as it aired has now become a cherished memory, praising the emotional harmony of the songs and visuals that feel like quiet comfort from a parent to a child.

The Reply 1988 10th anniversary OST album is currently available for pre-order on major music retail sites.

Previously, on December 22, Studio MaumC released a teaser video titled “Reply 1988 10th Anniversary OST Part 2] Ssangmun-dong Kids – Hyehwadong (or Ssangmun-dong) M/V Teaser” via its official channel. The song is a remake of Zoo’s classic track “Hyehwadong,” which originally gained immense popularity during the drama’s broadcast when the late singer Park Bo Ram performed it for the OST.

The teaser drew immediate attention as part of a special remake project celebrating the 10th anniversary of Reply 1988, featuring direct participation from the main cast. The video shows Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Bo Gum, Go Kyung Pyo, Lee Dong Hwi, Ryu Hye Young, Ahn Jae Hong, and Choi Sung Won—eight beloved “Ssangmun-dong kids”—gathered in the recording studio.

As the song’s highlight plays, the actors harmonize together, their natural chemistry instantly reviving memories from a decade ago. The simple act of singing side by side was enough to transport viewers back to the warm, nostalgic atmosphere that made Reply 1988 a cultural phenomenon.

Previously, Reply 1988 10th Anniversary OST Part 1 featured Park Bo Gum’s remake of “Every Day With You,” which received enthusiastic responses upon release. Continuing the momentum, “Hyehwadong (or Ssangmun-dong)” will be officially released on December 26 at 6 PM KST across major music streaming platforms.

Fans are also in for an additional surprise. On the same day, a double title OST will be released featuring Ra Mi Ran, Kim Sun Young, and Lee Il Hwa the iconic “Ssangmun-dong moms.” The trio will remake Deulgukhwa’s “Don’t Worry,” delivering a new emotional take following Lee Juck’s memorable version from the original soundtrack.

Meanwhile, the Reply 1988 cast recently reunited for a 1-night, 2-day trip to commemorate the drama’s 10th anniversary. Their journey is being revealed through a special three-part series produced as part of tvN’s 20th anniversary lineup. Premiering on December 19 at 8:40 PM KST, the special airs weekly on Fridays.

The project brings together both the parent-generation actors Sung Dong Il, Lee Il Hwa, Ra Mi Ran, Kim Sung Kyun, Choi Moo Sung, Kim Sun Young, and Yoo Jae Myung and the younger cast members who led the “Reply 1988 syndrome,” including Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Bo Gum, Go Kyung Pyo, Ahn Jae Hong, Lee Dong Hwi, Choi Sung Won, Ryu Hye Young, and Lee Min Ji.

Particular attention has been drawn to Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol’s reunion. After Reply 1988 ended, the two confirmed their real-life relationship in 2017, earning widespread support from fans. Though the drama’s famous “Eonamryu” theory did not come true on screen, it became reality off screen until the couple parted ways in 2023 after eight years together.

Their voices coming together once again, however, has proven that Reply 1988 remains a story that continues to resonate 10 years later, still warm, still meaningful.
