Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, now head of OOAK Records, has stated that she would be willing to produce music for NewJeans again—if the group were to personally request it—despite her ongoing legal conflict with HYBE.

Min Hee-jin made the remarks during a December 19 appearance on YTN Radio’s current affairs program News Frontline Showdown, where she addressed speculation surrounding a potential reconciliation with HYBE and a future creative role with NewJeans.

When host Kim Jun-woo asked whether she might return as NewJeans’ producer should relations with HYBE dramatically improve, Min Hee-jin responded cautiously but clearly.
“That’s not something I get to decide. Honestly, if NewJeans were to ask, I would be open to it anytime. We’ve talked and negotiated around that idea many times. But right now, the other side doesn’t want it. That’s how it has been.”
Min Hee-jin emphasized that the decision ultimately lies with HYBE and its affiliated labels, not with her.
When pressed on whether reconciliation itself is still possible, Min Hee-jin avoided giving a definitive answer.
“I’m not sure if reconciliation is even legally possible at this point. There are so many legal issues involved, and I have to be careful with what I say.”
A legal expert appearing on the program added that the situation appears difficult to resolve amicably.
“There are simply too many legal disputes intertwined. Any reconciliation would require an extremely significant decision from both sides.”
Min Hee-jin was removed as ADOR CEO in August 2024, stepped down from her internal director role in November, and officially left the company shortly after. Since then, she has been engaged in multiple legal battles with HYBE and its subsidiary labels, including Belift Lab.

Her conflict with HYBE has had major ripple effects across the K-pop industry, particularly given her central role in shaping NewJeans’ creative identity and commercial success.
While Min Hee-jin’s statement leaves the door open creatively, it also underscores the reality that any reunion is unlikely without corporate approval. For now, her comments signal willingness—but not expectation.
