During a December 18 hearing at the Seoul Central District Court for Min Hee‑jin’s lawsuit against HYBE over put options, several online posts went viral claiming the former ADOR CEO made explosive accusations against HYBE founder Bang Si‑hyuk regarding NewJeans. According to fan‑reported accounts shared on X (formerly Twitter), Min allegedly accused Bang of interfering with NewJeans’ awards trajectory specifically at the MAMA Awards and in potential GRAMMY nomination submissions.

According to these posts, witnesses present in the courtroom claimed Min stated that NewJeans attended the 2022 MAMA Awards expecting to win an award. However, on the day of the event, the award in question was reportedly changed, and Min Hee‑jin received the Breakout Producer Award instead. The posts alleged Min was told the switch was influenced by Bang Si‑hyuk. Supposedly, she also raised objections with HYBE CEO at the time, Park Ji‑won.
Another wave of fan posts claimed HYBE blocked NewJeans from pursuing GRAMMY nominations. The narrative suggests that when Min asked HYBE’s PR team about submitting NewJeans for awards consideration, her inquiries were dismissed. Later, after reading a Rolling Stone article identifying NewJeans as a potential contender for Best New Artist, Min allegedly became upset, believing the group had been unfairly hindered.
These rumors have fueled backlash among NewJeans fans, increasing anxiety about the group’s future under HYBE’s management. Many fans feel these allegations, if true, would indicate internal politics affecting the group’s international recognition.
It’s important to stress, however, that none of these claims are supported by official court records, direct quotes, or verified sources. HYBE has also not publicly responded to any of these allegations. At this point, the claims remain unsubstantiated rumors circulating on social media, and should be treated as such until confirmed by reliable evidence.
