On December 16, BTS RM connected with fans through a live broadcast on Weverse, where he casually shared the news.

“Everyone, it’s Kim Namjoon I got my driver’s license,” he announced, prompting applause and cheers from fans.

Fellow member j-hope jokingly chimed in, saying, “I heard there was a rumor you failed once.” RM laughed and explained the situation honestly.

“I crossed the center line while making a U-turn,” he said. “The road markings were faded. I passed the driving test on my second try.”

He added with self-awareness, “I can drive, but I can’t park. I definitely need parking lessons.”

RM also made it clear that getting his license wasn’t about owning a vehicle. “I have no plans to buy a car,” he said. “I just wanted to try it for myself. I wanted to overcome my trauma.”

Though he didn’t go into detail about the trauma, fans praised his openness and courage in taking on a challenge later in life.

Shortly after the live broadcast, RM shared a photo of his Class 2 Standard driver’s license on his personal Instagram, quickly drawing attention and congratulations from fans worldwide.

Meanwhile, BTS is preparing for a highly anticipated full-group comeback scheduled for March next year, marking a major moment for fans following the members’ individual activities.
