Rapper Jvcki Wai (29, real name Hong Si-ah) has sparked major controversy after alleging she was a victim of dating violence by her former partner, KC Label producer Vangdale (32, real name Bang Jin-woo). Her claims, shared publicly, have triggered intense debate across social media and online communities.
On December 12, Jvcki Wai posted photos to Instagram showing visible injuries on her face and body, writing that she had been unable to leave her home for two weeks. The images sent shockwaves through the hip-hop scene and beyond. Addressing criticism over why she chose to post such content online, she explained that it was the only way to completely cut off contact, claiming she had previously been prevented from leaving and contacted repeatedly. “Since I posted it, he hasn’t contacted me,” she wrote, adding an apology to those who felt uncomfortable.

She later shared what she said were emails and voice messages from the alleged assailant. Soon after, Vangdale publicly responded on social media with profanity-filled posts denying the accusations and claiming he was the one who had been assaulted. His identity became widely known as he had produced Jvcki Wai’s 2025 full-length album MOLLAK and collaborated with her earlier this year on the single Spoil U. Vangdale is a producer under KC Label, founded by rapper Sik-K, and was named Producer of the Year at the 2025 Korean Hip-hop Awards.

As the dispute escalated, Jvcki Wai released a lengthy follow-up statement on December 14. She acknowledged that she had slapped him during an altercation but insisted that the vast majority of physical and verbal abuse had been inflicted on her. She accused him of distorting events to portray himself as the victim, saying she felt sickened by what she described as his attempts to rationalize his actions.
Detailing her allegations, Jvcki Wai claimed she was confined in a room, had her phone taken to prevent her from calling the police, and was threatened while he smashed objects in front of her. She further alleged that during one incident, he pushed her to the floor, threw objects to intimidate her, attempted to retrieve a kitchen knife, and later choked her to the point she struggled to breathe.
She described a pattern of escalating violence, starting with small objects being thrown and progressing to physical restraint. According to her account, she had once reported the situation to the police and informed a KC Label executive, expressing concern that she might not be able to continue album promotions. She said she stayed silent publicly to avoid harming others, and that apologies from her partner led her to reconcile—something she now deeply regrets.

Jvcki Wai also claimed that repeated attempts to break up were met with threats of suicide, career sabotage, and harassment. She described feeling increasingly isolated and said that when he appeared at her home again recently, she genuinely feared for her life. “I don’t care if I never make music again,” she wrote. “I don’t care if my image is ruined. I just wanted to live and to end the relationship.”
The rapper concluded by saying she was prepared to face mockery or disbelief, emphasizing that her decision to speak out was driven by survival rather than public opinion.
Jvcki Wai debuted in 2016 and joined [AOMG] in 2022, where she has continued her career as one of the label’s prominent female rappers. As of now, the situation remains a matter of public dispute, with online opinion sharply divided and calls growing for a clearer investigation into the allegations.
