Once known as YG Entertainment’s most prized trainee, Bang Yedam has continued carving out his own path after leaving TREASURE proving that his talent goes far beyond idol activities.
In October 2023, GF Entertainment officially announced his solo debut, revealing: “Bang Yedam will release a pre-release song on the 10th of next month and his first mini-album on the 23rd.”
Bang Yedam first captivated the public through SBS’s K-Pop Star Season 2 in 2013, earning the runner-up spot at just 10 years old. His powerful vocals and stage presence led to nicknames like “Korea’s Justin Bieber” and “Little Michael Jackson.”

After seven years of training at YG, he debuted as a member of TREASURE, receiving major support from both YG and fans. However, in November 2022, Yedam and fellow member Mashiho unexpectedly departed the group and the company.
About a year later, it was confirmed that Bang Yedam had signed with GF Entertainment, home to the boy group KINGDOM, marking a fresh start to his solo career.
Regarding his solo debut, Yedam admitted the transition felt surreal: “The term ‘solo artist Bang Yedam’ still feels awkward, and it’s a big burden to fill a stage alone. But I’m excited to show my own music, and that comes with responsibility. I hope you’ll look forward to seeing many different sides of me.”

Fans have expressed enthusiastic support, flooding his posts with congratulatory messages and excitement.
Since leaving TREASURE, Bang Yedam has flourished behind the scenes as well participating in songwriting and producing for multiple artists, releasing two mini-albums, and performing at international events, including a recent fan concert in Thailand.
He’s quickly establishing himself as an artist with musical depth, versatility, and longevity showing that even after leaving one of the biggest K-pop companies, talent always finds its place.
