On December 9, former ZE:A member Taeheon uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel “NEXTAEHEON” titled “Who are Kwanghee, Im Siwan, and Park Hyungsik? I don’t know ZE:A, but here’s a tip”, documenting his third day working as a taxi driver.
One elderly passenger, soaked from the rain, told Taeheon: “You’re a lifesaver today. I really needed a taxi. I’ve driven for 36 years I’m 85 now.”
The passenger also reminisced about the old taxi culture: “Back in our day, if you were in a hurry, you’d offer double (fares). That always worked. But now older people are falling behind.”
Another passenger in his 30s failed to recognize Taeheon as an idol, even after Taeheon asked: “Do you know ZE:A? No? What about Hwang Kwanghee, Im Siwan, Park Hyungsik?”
After searching online, the customer finally realized: “Is this really you? I guess I just rode with a celebrity.”
Taeheon laughed it off, joking: “I should’ve worked harder so more people would recognize me.”
But the biggest surprise came when a delighted customer handed him ₩50,000 as a tip, marking Taeheon’s first gratuity as a taxi driver.
When asked what happened to the group, Taeheon explained: “As members enlisted one by one, it became impossible to continue ZE:A’s activities. After our contracts ended, we naturally went our separate ways.”
He also shared the harshest part of idol life: “The lack of freedom was the hardest. Back then, we didn’t have phones. We couldn’t date freely. Our manager would guard the dorm entrance so we couldn’t go out.”
Now, however, he appreciates the independence: “At my age, with experience, I can finally do what I want. That’s nice.”
On the topic of marriage, he firmly stated: “I have no intention of getting married.”
At the end of his shift, Taeheon revealed: “Today’s earnings were ₩217,900. I’m glad the day ended well. See you again on my next taxi shift.”
The video gained warm reactions from viewers, praising his humility, honesty, and determination through a new chapter in his life.
