BLACKPINK’s Lisa has officially confirmed that she will join in Netflix’s ambitious new global action film Extraction – Tygo, a project expanding the universe of the hit Hollywood franchise Extraction. The production team unveiled the star-studded cast—Lisa, Ma Dong-seok, and Lee Jin-wook—along with photos from the script reading on December 5, instantly igniting worldwide buzz.
Extraction – Tygo follows the story of Tygo, a war orphan turned elite mercenary who embarks on a high-stakes rescue mission when his close friend Ria is kidnapped by a powerful criminal syndicate. Ma Dong-seok, already widely recognized in global markets through Marvel’s Eternals, will take on the lead role of Taigo, bringing his trademark powerhouse action to the Netflix production.
Lisa, who has dominated global pop culture as part of BLACKPINK, will make her first acting and action debut in a Korean production as Ria, Tygo’s longtime friend whose life is endangered during a mission gone wrong.
Expressing her excitement and gratitude, Lisa stated:

Many audiences were not pleased when Lisa confirmed her collaboration with the controversial actor Lee Jin Wook in her new film.
A flood of negative comments has been directed at Lee Jin Wook, with many hoping he will withdraw from Taigo:

To recall, Lee Jin Wook’s scandal broke out in 2016 after a 33-year-old woman (referred to as A) accused him of sexual assault. According to her, the famous actor committed the act after coming to her home at night to help install curtains. Lee Jin Wook admitted they had sexual relations but claimed it was consensual, with no coercion involved.
Although Lee Jin Wook was acquitted in court, A did not accept the ruling and firmly insisted she was indeed a victim of sexual assault. After the shocking controversy, Lee Jin Wook continued acting, but his public image suffered greatly. Since then, the actor has remained the target of heavy criticism whenever he joins a new project.
Lee Jin Wook has long been considered an “eyesore” to the public and constantly faces a “storm of backlash” every time he returns to the entertainment industry with a new work.
