An unexpected and emotional moment took center stage during the press conference for tvN’s new weekend drama Pro Bono, when lead actress So Joo Yeon was overcome with tears while discussing the show’s deeper message.

Held online on December 2, the event featured director Kim Sung Yoon and cast members Jung Kyung Ho, So Joo Yeon, Lee Yoo Young, Yoon Na Moo, Seo Hye Won, and Kang Hyung Suk.

So Joo Yeon shared, “‘Pro Bono’ embodies the spirit of ‘despite everything.’ It delivers the message that even if you think, ‘What can one person do?’ you can still move and change the world.”

However, as she spoke, the actress visibly choked up and began to cry. Wiping her tears, she admitted, “Since working on ‘Pro Bono,’ I’ve found myself crying a lot more.”

She continued, “This drama has truly comforted me. Director Kim Sung Yoon felt like a teammate throughout. He gave every character attention and created such a fun atmosphere. I really wanted to publicly express my gratitude to him.”

Pro Bono tells the story of Kang David (played by Jung Kyung Ho), a self-serving judge obsessed with status, who unexpectedly ends up working in the public interest division of a giant law firm specifically in a zero-revenue, back-office legal aid team.

The drama is set to premiere on December 6 at 9:10 PM KST, promising a heartfelt legal drama with a human touch. So Joo Yeon’s emotional display has already drawn attention, building anticipation for the series and highlighting the passion behind the production.
