The Chinese entertainment world is in turmoil following a viral accusation against a popular actress with the surname Zhou. Allegedly, her on-set behavior has sparked massive backlash online, with netizens dubbing her the latest case of a “Queen Bee” attitude in showbiz.
Zhou’s personality causes chaos online
According to a Weibo post by an industry insider, this actress often exhibits excessive diva behavior during filming. The whistleblower detailed how she made unreasonable demands that affected the entire production crew. Most shockingly, during indoor filming sessions in the sweltering summer heat with strong lights raising the temperature even further she reportedly forbade the use of air conditioning.
When the male lead suggested turning it on due to the unbearable heat, she allegedly scolded him on the spot. The entire crew had to endure the stifling conditions for days.

Zhou is also described as obsessively concerned with cleanliness. Anyone entering her private van whether stylist, hair artist, or makeup artist was required to wear shoe covers and avoid touching any surface. During scenes requiring physical contact, such as hand-holding or support, she would allegedly yank herself away and sanitize aggressively in front of the cast and crew.
One particularly disturbing incident involved her shouting at a fellow actress until the latter burst into tears. This reportedly created a tense, uncomfortable atmosphere on set for days.
The whistleblower even claimed that Zhou had previously worked with an actress surnamed Dong, whom she berated so severely that Dong was left crying on set.
Witch hunt for the real Zhou begins
The anonymous post has sparked chaos among Chinese netizens, who criticized the actress’s behavior as tyrannical and narcissistic labeling it as “Queen Bee Syndrome.” While the post refrains from naming the actress, it only identifies her surname as “Zhou,” which led to online speculation involving numerous prominent figures.

Weibo was quickly flooded with names of actresses surnamed Zhou, including Zhou Xun, Zhou Dongyu, Zhou Yutong, Zhou Ye, and Kyulkyung (Zhou Jieqiong). Fans of these stars rushed to defend them, demanding the blogger present solid evidence rather than vague accusations that damage reputations.
Suspected names: Zhou Ye, Zhou Xun, Zhou Dongyu…
As netizens tried to piece together clues, past controversies surrounding various Zhou-named actresses resurfaced. Zhou Ye, in particular, became a hot topic due to a 2024 incident where she appeared cold and unresponsive to a reporter’s greeting in a behind-the-scenes clip. Despite efforts to rehabilitate her image, her aloof reputation lingered, making her a frequent target whenever “attitude problems” trend online.

Zhou Xun has also been in the spotlight for her reportedly frosty demeanor. Media once captured her rejecting autograph requests at an airport, leading some fans to label her distant. Her appearance on the show Rock&Roast drew criticism as well, with viewers calling her disengaged and unapproachable.
No confirmation, but rumors continue to swirl
To date, no major Chinese media outlet has confirmed any details of the alleged incidents. No production crew, management company, or involved parties have issued a statement. There is also no visual evidence photos or videos to back up the accusations.

Despite this, public discourse continues unabated. Some netizens pointed out that in China’s entertainment industry, even vague accusations of bad attitude can lead to widespread scrutiny. Past incidents have shown that behind-the-scenes moments or edited clips can easily be misconstrued, causing innocent artists to be wrongly judged.
While the true identity of the actress in question remains a mystery, the tale of “no AC in summer, compulsive sanitization, and explosive tantrums on set” continues to spread like wildfire online.
