LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura recently stole the spotlight at Tokyo Dome, delivering a speech full of sincerity that resonated deeply with fans.
The performance, held on November 18–19, drew 80,000 fans over two days. LE SSERAFIM impressed with stable vocals and captivating performances, but it was the members’ reflections and emotions that made headlines. As a Japanese native, Sakura’s heartfelt speech brought the Tokyo Dome to tears.

During her roughly one-minute speech, Sakura reflected on her personal journey: “The last time I stood on the Tokyo Dome stage was 11 years ago. Back then, I didn’t truly understand the meaning of this stage. I just remembered watching my seniors from behind. Now, standing here again after 11 years, so many emotions arise, and I can somewhat understand what my seniors felt that day.”
She continued: “I’ve lived as an idol for 14 years. Honestly, I’ve gone through many hardships, and there were times I wondered what my life would be like if I hadn’t chosen this path. During these 14 years, I achieved many dreams, but I also had to give up a lot. I’ve met countless people, but also experienced many farewells. Still, if such moments lead to a scene like today, I would definitely choose the path of an idol again.”

Fans and netizens responded enthusiastically, commenting, “We cried with her,” “It’s like a scene from a coming-of-age manga,” and “Her sincerity has real power.” Many praised her as a “born-to-be idol” whose story inspires both admiration and encouragement.
Sakura’s career path itself is remarkable. Previously a popular member of HKT48 and AKB48, she returned to Japan in 2018 after participating in Mnet’s Produce 48 to debut as part of IZ*ONE, later joining LE SSERAFIM. Her journey exemplifies courage and perseverance, earning her the title of a “challenge icon” in K-pop.
LE SSERAFIM faced high expectations from the start, particularly with Sakura and Kim Chae-won’s involvement. Despite challenges, the group remained committed to their identity of pursuing music without fear, leading to hits like EASY, CRAZY, and HOT.

Their recent single, SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS), achieved remarkable results, topping domestic charts and even winning first place on SBS Inkigayo after official promotions ended. The song reached #50 on Billboard Hot 100, proving the group’s growing global influence as a 4th-generation K-pop powerhouse.
Looking ahead, LE SSERAFIM will hold their encore world tour concerts at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Stadium on January 31–February 1, promising fans more unforgettable performances in the new year.
