On November 25, W Korea uploaded a new video titled “Why Did aespa’s Karina Burst Into Laughter While Doing Makeup? Karina ASMR Has Emotion” on its official YouTube channel.
During the video, Karina was asked whether she had ever run into fans by chance.
Karina recalled, “When we went to the U.S. for schedules, I visited Universal Studios. I was wearing our concert MD, but people didn’t recognize me.” She added that she hesitated to greet them first, but later met the same group at another ride and eventually said hello.
She then shared another memorable moment from LA: “I went to buy cosmetics recently, and a woman complimented me, saying I was pretty. Then she asked, ‘Do you have Instagram?’ but… I couldn’t tell her. I just couldn’t,” she said with a laugh, making the staff crack up as well.
aespa debuted in November 2020 with the multi-national girl group hitting the global charts with “Black Mamba”, entering the Billboard Global 100 and charting in 95 countries. Karina launched her solo career in October 2024 with the digital single “UP”, topping multiple charts including Melon’s daily and Top 100 rankings.
Recently, aespa held their world tour “SYNC: aespa Line” at Seoul KSPO Dome in August, with the final leg scheduled in Jakarta, Indonesia, in April next year.
Karina’s candid personality and lighthearted storytelling once again captured fans’ hearts, showing how even global stars can find themselves in relatable everyday situations.
